Special Vice Versa Magazine edition about Feminist Foreign Policy
13-12-2022
Following other
countries, the Dutch cabinet wants to implement a feminist foreign policy (FFP).
The aim is to reduce inequality and strive for an equal position of men, women
and non-binary people worldwide. That announcement prompted Vice Versa and
WO=MEN to create a special issue and explore the topic in greater depth.
The first
copy was presented to Minister Liesje Schreinemacher of Foreign Trade and
Development Cooperation, who then also distributed it to the Council of
Ministers.
The Dutch
version of a feminist foreign policy will focus on four r's: rights (protecting
women's rights), representation (involving women in policy-making and
implementation), resources (funds must also benefit women) and a reality check
(are there no unforeseen negative consequences for women?) - and all four are featured
in this issue.
