Alliantie Samen werkt het!

The Samen werkt het! Alliance's strategic objective is that all men and women share paid work and unpaid care tasks more equitably by 2022. We focus on financially vulnerable women. By ensuring they are better informed, they become more aware of their choices, and how to make better decisions.

WO=MEN forms the link between the national and international agenda. We make sure that social and political developments at, for example, EU and UN level, can contribute to improving gender equality on the Dutch labour market.

The accompanying website Ditwerktwel.nl focuses mainly on women in a financially vulnerable situation. Specifically on mothers and/or informal carers who want to take a step towards (more and/or better) paid work and thus towards economic independence, but who experience obstacles in taking this step.

These obstacles are, for example, formed by:

  • low literacy;
  • missing a basic qualification;
  • having a (work) disability;
  • discrimination based on gender, age, disability, pregnancy or early maternity, migrant or refugee background;
  • a mismatch between supply and demand on the labor market (outdated education/work experience);
  • no access to childcare;
  • lack of appropriate respite care.

Samen werkt het!, is an alliance comprising WOMEN Inc., Bureau Clara Wichmann, Nederlandse Vrouwen Raad, WO=MEN, Movisie and the Ministry for Education, Culture and Science (OCW). The collaboration will run from 2018 - 2022.
