Corona is not the biggest challenge of this pandemic
While the first corona wave seems to have died down in Europe, the epidemic in Africa is increasing. The continent, where the medical sector is not equipped to handle huge numbers of seriously ill people, is bracing itself. Girls and women's rights under great pressure due to the corona crisis
In addition to our economy and health, the rights of girls and women are also under great pressure due to the current corona crisis. Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread and devastating human rights violations. 1 in 3 girls and women will experience some form of physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Many forms of violence go unreported due to impunity, shame and inequality. The United Nations predicts that violence against girls and women will increase enormously due to the current corona crisis. Because with every three months that the global lockdown strategy continues, no fewer than 15 million victims of domestic and sexual violence are added. Read more.

How do you fight corona in a country like Kenya, where the health care infrastructure is not optimal and large parts of the population are not aware of the risks of the virus?
