On International Women's Day, we zoom in on women's activists in the Middle East, where women often stand up for their rights at the risk of their lives. What do these women need to keep fighting? And are they heard at all?
"It is extremely important that these women are supported and protected by the international community,” says Anne-Floor Dekker, program manager Gender, Peace and Security at WO=MEN (women equals men). This Dutch platform supports gender equality and women's rights activists abroad, especially in conflict and post-conflict areas.
