Beyond the lens: Migrant women shaping narratives

Through our W-STAR project, we have been working on centring migrant women's voices in The Netherlands and breaking down barriers to meaningful participation in civic and political life. This International Women’s Day, come and see what’s behind the lens & how migrant women continue to challenge dominant narratives.
FILMS
- 'It is a Fight' from Farouk Ebaiss and Micha Adarian - A raw and inspiring documentary short - this film captures the journey of a "chosen name" and a "chosen life".
- 'My Maysoon' from Batoul Karbijha - a moving story about Batoul's quest to finding her sister who disappeared on the Mediterranean sea.
- 'In Your Eyes' from Sandra Alloush - a movie exploring themes of identity, migration, asylum and racism and examines the complexities of the migrant and refugee experiences.
