Devika Partiman provides the workshop ‘Strijders voor vrouwen in de politiek’
Since Devika Partiman established foundation Vote for a Woman in 2017, she shows how important political representation is. In her workshop, she takes you on a journey through the history of women in politics, shows how women have been left out from that history, and shares inspiring examples of successful representation. The central question: we are slowly moving in the right direction, but how do we continue?

In 2006, among others, organisations Oxfam Novib, Hivos, Cordaid and ICCO joined forces to raise the profile of gender equality on the agenda of development cooperation and strengthen the position of women and girls. From this coalition emerged WO=MEN Dutch gender platform.
Twenty years later we have grown into a unique platform that keeps gender equality on the agenda within comprehensive foreign policy, such as policy related to safety and climate. National and worldwide. We will celebrate that together! We look back at what we achieved, and ahead at what is still necessary. Because we are far from done.
