CSW68 Parallel event: Hidden Hours: Feminist Solutions to Energy, Water & Menstrual Poverty

Date: 19-03-2024
Time: 8:30am - 10:20am (EDT) / 13:30 - 15:20 (CET)
Location: CSW68 NGO Forum, CCUN 10th Floor

It is often said that everybody has the same amount of hours in a day, but is that really the case? Women and girls, in all their diversity, are often tasked with time consuming responsibilities in the home, such as collecting firewood or water, preventing them from enjoying education or taking part in paid work. In this parallel event we aim to explore how time poverty is formed, by looking at case studies on the gendered dimensions of energy, water and menstrual poverty, and will highlight women-led, feminist initiatives from the Global South which tackle these issues.
We look forward to welcoming you to our interactive event, where you will co-create recommendations to identify needs and strengthen gender-transformative initiatives to tackle energy, water and/or menstrual poverty.
