Feminist Action Nexus for Economic and Climate Justice: Global Kickoff

Date: 12-04-2022
Time: 14:00 Amsterdam
Location: online

The Feminist Action Nexus on Climate and Economic Justice invites you to join us for our Global Kickoff, on Tuesday 12 April 2022 from 12:00 to 15:00 UTC. To register to join us, please click here.

Emerging out of the Generation Equality Forum, the Action Nexus is co-convened by the African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET), the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), the Women’s Working Group on Financing for Development (WWG on FfD), and the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO). Together with dynamic global South-based activist-intellectuals, these four organizations have begun to outline a conceptual framework that unpacks the connections between neoliberalism, patriarchy, white supremacy, and colonialism.

This three-hour global kickoff meeting will draw connections between the emerging work of the Action Nexus and the advocacy and activism of feminist movements across the world, particularly in the global/economic South.

Beginning with a grounding in the conceptual framework of the Action Nexus, this action-oriented strategy session will include breakout groups across regions and issue areas. As outcomes, the event will collectively produce a policy map of upcoming events and processes and a draft advocacy strategy for the Action Nexus, including the publication of advocacy briefs and an accountability mechanism before the end of 2022.
