Abstract
Gender equality and women’s empowerment are central to the development, environmental sustainability and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Yet, gender inequalities have recently increased as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to deteriorate economies and people’s health and well-being across the globe. At the same time, the current environmental emergency continues to drain livelihoods often affecting men and women differently. These parallel crises threaten gender equality, undermining the achievement of the SDGs.

This event will review emerging OECD work on the gender-environment nexus in the context of Agenda 2030, including policies and actions to deliver on gender equality, environmental sustainability, economic opportunities and well-being. Panellists will discuss innovative approaches and provide insights on this critical aspect of the global environmental agenda.

This event will take place via Zoom and advance registration is required. Once registered you should receive a confirmation e-mail providing information about joining the event.

This is an open event - please feel free to share this invitation with your external networks.
