Join us for an in-person exchange with Ayah Alwakil, a women's rights defender from Gaza. Alwakil fought for many years against the challenges imposed by a patriarchal, conservative society that places women in a secondary role. Throughout her professional career, she worked on legally representing women in courts and providing support to those suffering from discrimination and violence, striving to bring about real change in their lives. Ayah Alwakil became a strong voice for female victims.
"Since the outbreak of the genocide in Gaza, I have been documenting Israeli violations against women, conveying their suffering to the world, calling for justice and accountability, and serving as a living witness to the suffering of women in Gaza amid global silence." - Alwakil
During the exchange session she would like to discuss her work, including its challenges and achievements, and there will be ample time for questions and discussion. We are looking forward to a highly interesting and interactive exchange!
Deadline for registration: Tuesday 3 June, COB
Please note: In the event of a high number of registrations, priority will be given to members of NAP 1325 and WO=MEN.
