Kenneth is a Kenyan grassroots LGBTQI+ human rights advocate and security practitioner. He is the founder and Executive Director of
Grassroots Transitional House - Kenya, a community-led initiative supporting marginalised LGBTQI+ persons in the rural Mount Kenya Region. The organisation works on security and protection, mental health support, economic empowerment, and climate action. Kenneth also serves as a Security and Protection Coordinator at the Gay and Lesbian+ Coalition of Kenya
galck+, where he strengthens community-led safety mechanisms, coordinates emergency responses, and works closely with partners throughout Kenya.
Kenneth’s work focuses on advancing the rights and well-being of LGBTQI+ persons in rural and marginalised contexts. He was recognised among the Top 10 Global Human Rights Defenders at the Dublin Arts and Human Rights Festival in 2023.
He would be very much interested in an exchange on Gender, Peace and Security from feminist and queer perspectives, including reflections on advocacy strategies, possible funding opportunities, and connections to the queer East African and Kenyan diaspora.
Join us for an interesting discussion and exchange!
