NAP1325 Signatory Event: Marking the Dutch comprehensive approach to WPS

This in-person Signatory Event marks the comprehensive implementation
of the Dutch NAP 1325. The event provides ample opportunity for
learning and exchange around the implementation of the WPS agenda and an
opportunity for informal networking between NAP 1325 signatories.
The third Dutch government 2024-2025 progress report on NAP 1325 to
Parliament will be discussed, followed by three very diverse thematic
sessions, all representing key aspects of NAP 1325 implementation.
Programme
- 10.00 - 10.25 AM: Walk-in and registration with coffee & tea.10.25 - 10.35 AM: Welcome and introduction of the programme.
- 10.35 - 10.45 AM: Key note speech: Peter Schuurman, Special Envoy Migration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- 10.45 - 11.30 AM: highlights, challenges and lessons learned of the
implementation of the NAP 1325 2024-2025: a co-moderated panel
discussion with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (Willemijn
Kallenberg), Justice & Security (Chantal Joubert ) and Defence
(Karen Loos). Co-moderators: Yordi Lassooy-Tekle and Nils Mollema.
- 11.30 - 11.40 AM: Short break and move to break out rooms.
- 11.40 - 12.30 PM: Three parallel break out sessions marking the diverse implementation of the Dutch NAP 1325:
- A gender responsive approach in the asylum chain: moderated panel
discussion with representatives from: COA (Hiba Alromy, introduction
COA policy and gender responsiveness); MigrationInc (Yordi Lassooy,
gender training and awareness for refugee women and COA staff), Refugee
Women (Mano), Women’s Boat Rotterdam (Lieke Galbraith, small scale
reception centre for women), ASKV (Jiske Castien, working with women and
men who are not (yet) in the asylum procedure). Followed by Q&A with the audience. Moderator: Anne-Floor Dekker.
- Roles
and responsibilities in the security sector in relation to NAP
1325: a moderated conversation with senior representatives from the
Ministry of Defence and the National Police. Panel speakers Gender
Advisor Ministry of Defense (Caroline Burger) and Chair Amsterdam
Platform Violence against Women National Police (Verona Hummel).
Followed by Q&A with the audience. Moderator: Stephanie Joubert.
- Women in Politics and Peace: Reflecting on five years working on WPS
in Myanmar, Burundi and Colombia: Presenter: NIMD (Htet Oo Wai).
- 12.30 - 01.30 PM: Network lunch. Brief introduction of two new NAP 1325 Signatories: ASKV and JASON Institute.
