Rights at Risk
Date: 03-10-2025
Time: 9.30 am - 16.00 pm
About the event: Anti-gender and anti-rights sentiments are gaining ground in Europe, including the Netherlands. Serious attempts are made to undermine and roll-back hard-won progress on gender equality, women's rights and LGBTQIA+ rights. Civic space is curtailed and norms on gender in public debate are shifting. While the world is witnessing the developments in the US and their global impact, awareness of the strategies and impact of anti-gender movements in European countries as the Netherlands remains dangerously low.
On Friday 3 October 2025 WO=MEN Dutch Gender Platform, part of the consortium ‘Our Voices Our Futures’, will host the Rights at Risk Conference. A day to bring together policymakers, (inter)national experts and civil society to learn about the tactics of anti-gender and anti-rights movements and build collective strategies and resilience to hold the line and push it forward on gender equality, women’s and LBTQIA+-rights.
Who should attend: Dutch and international policymakers, diplomats, researchers and civil society leaders working on gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights, democracy, rule of law, civic space and human rights.
*Please note: the event is invitation only and will be hosted in English. A valid proof of identification is needed to enter the building.
