The Women, Peace and Security agenda and the National Action Plan 1325 demonstrate that sustainable security is achieved by investing in conflict prevention, gender equality and the meaningful participation of women and local civil society. Their knowledge and experience are not a mere afterthought, but an indispensable prerequisite for effective early warning, resilience and peace.
