Datum: 25-06-2025Tijd: 15:00 - 16:00 uurLocatie: Geneve (ook mogelijkheid om online te volgen!)
Through this side event at the Human Rights Council (HRC), CMI! would like to reaffirm the importance of gender-based approaches to addressing violence and discrimination against women and girls. The session will highlight the limitations and risks of binary, sex-based rights frameworks and advance intersectional frameworks that recognize how gender-based violence is shaped by multiple, overlapping systems of power.
The event will be moderated by our very own Nadia Van der Linde who will be joined by the following speakers:
- Melissa Upreti - Former chair of the WG on Discrimination Against Women and Girls
- Susana Fried - Just Futures Collaborative
- Namkeen Peshawri - Transwoman artivist from Pakistan
- Krystal Hendrycks - Intersex activists
- Aïda Yancy - Independent lesbian activist
