CSW66: Generation Equality Accountability for Adolescent Girls: An intergenerational dialogue
Datum: 16-03-2022Tijd: TBCLocatie: Online
The Generation Equality (GE) process presents the most significant opportunity to accelerate global action for women’s and girls’ rights, as illustrated in the Global Acceleration Plan. We are now at another crucial stage in the GE timeline as the commitments made during the Generation Equality Forums (GEF) in 2021 move towards implementation. To ensure that the commitments made during GEF result in real time investments and support to adolescent girls and youth leaders leading change on the ground, it is imperative that the inclusion and leadership of adolescent girls is meaningfully incorporated in the implementation and accountability process of GE.
This event will explore accountability mechanisms for girl-focused commitments and investments that centre girls and youth leaders, whilst highlighting possible solutions (e.g., the Girls Fund) and recommendations to address challenges experienced by girl and youth leaders in the GE process, especially when it comes to the implementation, resourcing, and accountability of girl-centric commitments.
