Alliance Politica focuses on promoting political representation and participation of women in all their diversity in Dutch Politics.
During this interactive webinar we will exchange lessons learned, best practices and brilliant failures in strengthening political participation of women in all their diversity. We will be digging into case studies from the Netherlands as well as other countries.

Main topics are:
  • the use of gender quota (and other successful policies) in promoting political participation and representation of women;
  • challenges and successes in countering (online) hatred against female politicians.

Speakers include:
  • Devika Partiman, founder and director at Stem op een Vrouw (Vote for a Woman)
  • Christina Alnevall, senior expert at the Department for Policy Analysis and Monitoring at the Swedish Gender Equality Agency (Jämställdhetsmyndigheten)
  • Ainhoa Novo Arbona from the Political Science department at the University of Basque Country. Her research concerns gender studies, gender representation and quota (Spain and comparative) and federalism. She coordinates the doctoral programme in feminist and gender studies in UPV/EHU.
  • Dapthne Cuevas from Equidad de Género. A Mexican feminist organisation working on, among other things, political participation of women.
Including Spanish – English translation.

Together with the audience we aim to take away from this event how to (continue) strengthen political institutions with a gender perspective.

In Alliance Politica WO=MEN Dutch Gender Platform, Stem op een Vrouw, de Nederlandse Vrouwenraad and Emancipator work together on equal political representation.
